Erik’s Geekfun Emergency
Despite warnings to the contrary, Salon did not pull my blog 30 days after the free trial ended. It isn’t a suprise really, the number of active posters seems to have dwindled dramatically. I suspect total page views have also dropped. The clearest evidence of this is the fact that my old blog hasn’t plummeted down the overall rankings more quickly.

I am helped by ringing up a decent number of page views early in the experiment, but, most of all, by the fact that at least a few people a day come to my blog as a result of a porn related search on google. It used to be that most of them were looking for a diary of a video store clerk I linked too a while ago. Now though, it is sometimes hard to guess what they thought they would find.

I caught the beginning of this show yesterday. As part of the introduction, the included bits of 5 “man on the street” interviews on the subject. Then gave the names of the people speaking, and indicated that one person didn’t wish their name to be used. That person had just indicated their support for more video surveilance.

Just as long as no one knows who they are, I guess.

As we all know, one of the joys of public bathrooms is sharing them with other people. My experience is that bathrooms in most white collar offices are relatively clean, but there are other bright shining moments.

Like when your neighbor grunts out every breath, and you have to try and time your exit to be sure that you don’t get to see who they are.
