I have long viewed Paris Hilton as waste of skin. I regret the synapses in my brain that register her existance. I alternate between pity and disgust to see her now (or ever) as she goes to jail over and over.

Like so many celebrities, she is a human sacrifice. The sacrificial virgin with the stolen sex tape. Bloodless blood sport. May her tears bring the rains and the grains, may her cries call the beasts to bloody ambush, may she wither so that our children grow strong.

Costco in the Bay Area is selling Mexican Coca Cola that’s made with sucrose, rather than high fructose corn syrup. Can you taste the difference? I’d like to try.

MoveOn is trying to capitalize on John McCain’s recent gaff. I really wish they wouldn’t, because this is what they have come up with for a fundraising e-mail:

At a campaign stop on Wednesday, Sen. John McCain was asked what to do about Iran. His response? He sang “bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” to the tune of the Beach Boys’ “Barbara Ann.”

Seriously.

Seriously, yes, I have seen the video. Some bellicose little weasel tried asking a rambling question about, basically, bombing Iran. From what I could tell, McCain, by singing his little song, was mocking the whole premise. I don’t know what else he said next, because all the clips I’ve seen, including the one MoveOn links to, cut off there.

I don’t like McCain, but I dislike an adolescent pile-on more.

I’m thrilled that American politics is conducted at the level of teenaged innuendo. As much as I’d like to point fingers at Karl Rove, he’s just a symptom of a systemic infection.

Does anyone have a link to a longer version of the John McCain “bomb bomb bomb Iran” clip?  The only ones I can find cut out right after he finishes singing.

Anyone else using Twitter?  I signed up last year, shortly after they added a Web/IM interface, but I’ve never used it much.  Still, I occasionally post random bits of my goings on to it.
